Mississauga's Mayor's Housing Task Force is making strides to expedite the construction of affordable housing in the city. Formed last summer, the task force, consisting of over 30 members from the city and the development sector, has proposed 30 actions aimed at increasing the number of affordable homes. Key recommendations include reforming development charges, updating building standards, transforming zoning, and creating sustainable funding programs. Immediate actions include increasing housing supply by permitting an additional 124,000 units to address the ongoing housing crisis.
