The City of Mississauga's Rental Standards Program assists tenants in addressing maintenance issues in apartment buildings. If landlords or property managers neglect repairs, residents can report problems related to heating, plumbing, pests, and cleanliness. The program covers buildings with two or more storeys and six or more units. Since its launch in 2022, it has addressed over 1,900 by-law violations and received more than 3,000 complaints. Tenants can report issues online or by calling 311, with confidentiality assured.
